Rev. Theresa Dove-Waters is an ordained United Methodist Minister, published author, and former college professor whose life’s work has been shaped by faith, resilience, and service. Her debut book, Not My Son, Not on Mother’s Day, is a heartfelt and courageous account of a mother’s journey through her son’s addiction and recovery, and her own unexpected call to ministry. Through her experiences, Theresa sheds light on the realities of substance abuse, family healing, and the power of divine purpose.
Theresa holds both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Education from the University of North Florida and a Master of Divinity from Emory University’s renowned Candler School of Theology. She has served in various leadership roles in higher education and ministry, including director of minority affairs, substance abuse educator, and community advocate. A passionate speaker and educator, she has led workshops, support groups, and spoken on issues ranging from spiritual growth to empowering young women.
